The next few minutes will be like mining pure gold if you allow yourself to focus on the ideas inside of this message.

The principles and ideas you’ll be seeing here are the difference between a life of struggle, disappointment, and unfulfillment and a life of happiness, wealth and abundance.

None of them alone are life changing. But applied together, they form a powerful force that leads you to successes in your life beyond your wildest hopes.

Aren’t you curious to know what the most successful are doing that your not?

The first thing you must do to move onto the path that leads you to your success is to make a very specific decision. You must decide to take over complete control of your mind!

This will be the greatest challenge of your life. Your “Conditioned Mind” is not likely going to give in so easily, and as you already know from my most previous posts, it will do everything in its power to keep things the same, but to let you think that you’re going to change.

Fortunately, there’s a way to begin to take charge, and to retrain your “Conditioned Mind” so that it becomes your greatest ally.

We all have natural thoughts. It’s sometimes called our instincts. Unfortunately, many of our natural thoughts are negative, or at least, stunt our opportunity for growth. You need to become aware of every thought you make throughout your day, and begin to analyze where they are taking you.

Do you realize that 87% of everything you’re exposed to is negative? With a daily bombardment of negativity, it’s no wonder that we naturally tend to become more and more negative. It’s everywhere we turn. It’s so prevalent that unless you are able to recondition your mind to flush the negative out daily, and replace it with positive and constructive thoughts, you are doomed.

Remember, you are where you are and who you are because of the way you think. You will only move to a better place in your life when you begin to improve the quality of your thinking. Training your mind to think in a new and more empowering way is something you can do moment by moment, throughout your day. If you make it your goal to become aware of everything you now say and do, you will find opportunities to begin retraining your mind for success hundreds of times throughout each day.

Think what the compounding effect of improving your thoughts will have over time!

Think of the kind of person you can become as you gain more and more control over your thinking.

Imagine what your life would be like if you grew yourself into a person who could not fail.

What would you choose to do? This is the person you must aspire to become.

You want to begin the habit of nourishing your mind with great ideas for at least 15 minutes daily.

Just as you have to nourish your body with proper foods to keep it healthy and vital, the exact same is true for your mind. You have got to intentionally set aside time to nourish your mind with healthy and valuable information daily. Developing a passion for learning will lead you down your specific path to happiness. Yours will be a unique journey unlike anyone else’s, yet you can learn what others have done that helped them reach their dreams.

All you need is one new good idea for you to achieve your dreams. Your goal is to constantly bombard your mind with great new thoughts for you to consider. Every change or improvement that comes into your life will result from your mind “colliding” with a new idea. This new idea will give you a new perspective, and cause your mind to view things differently, and lead you to change and improve.

Learning from those who have succeeded in the areas of life that are important to you is the single, fastest way possible for you to achieve your success. When you begin to model those whose results are the kind you want, you will begin to see similar results.

What is it that you want most in life? What do you want to have … or to be …or to do?

If one of your goals is to win the money game and become financially free, this way of thinking is critical for you ever having a chance to succeed. It’s not the typical way of thinking, and it requires you to decide that you will begin to retrain your mind for financial success.

Keep this in mind …

There are people today starting with no more than you have, who have made the decision that they are going to create financial success for themselves in the next 5 years, and they will.

In fact, every year, thousands of people successfully create financial freedom on purpose! It’s no accident. It’s the result of changing the way they think and doing the things they do.

You can choose to be one of them. Or … not. It’s a choice. Your choice.

Take the time today to begin making new choices. Decide that you will take charge of your mind.

This one decision will lead you onto the path that can lead you to your dreams.

But you still need proven systems to keep you moving in the right direction.

We’ll get into those in more detail in the next post.

Until then, I leave you with this great quote by Keith Ellis, Bootstraps,

“Like the elephant, we are unconscious of our own strength. When it comes to understanding the power we have to make a difference in our own lives, we might as well be asleep.

If you want to make your dreams come true, wake up. Wake up to your own strength. Wake up to the role you play in your own destiny. Wake up to the power you have to choose what you think, do, and say.”

Namaste.

Great article. I think this is something that people frequently forget; that they control much of what happens to them and they definetly control how something affects them. I think that if you take charge of your own destiny and choose how you view the world, that can have the largest impact on your success.

    Jeff Fagin Response:

    Hi Sam,

I still love your email address! ;-)

We may or may not be able to control the events in our lives, but we DEFINITELY can control our responses to the events. 10% of life is what happens to us. 90% is how we respond.

    Thanks for the comment.

Hello. I agree with you that we have to constantly keep on coming up with new ideas and change. We should not keep the process of change in the planning stage only, but implement it in our life. I had once read in an article that if you wish to achieve something in life, you need to have a dream. If you dream for something, you will take concrete steps to achieve that dream.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Sonica,

So true. We all need to have a dream, a “Compelling Future.” Those who do live life to the fullest, those who don’t are usually lost.

Hope to see you back here.

  3. Richard Freeze says:

Wow, I found this article to not only be really entertaining but very informative. Also I do find it true that most of the stuff in our lives that we are subjected to is very negative from media, school, work, etc…

    Jeff Fagin reponse:

    Hey Richard,

Thanks for your comments. Isn’t it amazing how we are bombarded with negativity CONSTANTLY? That’s why it’s so hard to be positive. We have to create a SYSTEM to eliminate all the negativity AND replace it with positive energy. That’s something we all can LEARN how to do.

Thanks again for your comment Richard.

What a great blog post! I had no idea that 87% of what we see is negative. That number is quite profound!
I’m going to try putting a positive thought in place of every negative thought. I’ll try to put a positive spin on the negative things I see and hear too (like the news!).

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Michelle,

    Thanks for your comment.

    One HUGE suggestion.

ELIMINATE “TRY” FROM YOUR VOCABULARY. FOREVER.

Successful people don’t try … they either DO or they DON”T DO.

Read your comment again and leave out “try.” The message is now 100 times more powerful.

I hope to see you back here again Michelle.

Really nice blog and much needed for the today’s machine world. Today people are facing lots of problems in life due to their desires which results in unfulfilment etc. So if you want overcome from that means you need this type of blog. Very much appreciating your work. Thanks.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Ragow.

Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate them.

Hope to see you back again.

  6. Jayson says:

Thanks, Jeff, that is an encouraging message. Perhaps it is even part of the 15 minutes daily that I need for nourishing the mind on positive thoughts. That is the idea I took away most from your post. Spend 15 minutes everyday to train my mind to be positive. I bet it will be harder than I think! Oops, there’s the negative again. :-)

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Jayson,

If you come away with nothing else but the 15 minutes training your mind daily, pat yourself on the back, and commit to it. There are hundreds of “15 minute” posts on this site that you can focus on to keep yourself moving forward.

Hope to see you here often.

It is important to look at those who have succeeded and I think sometimes we forget to do that. Like in any business, research is key and research the success and failures of others before you is a first step. I agree that nourishing yourself is also key. It really is the key to almost anything we really want to do.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Wrenpris,

Learning from and modeling successful people is by far the fastest and best way I know of to create your own success.

    Thanks for your comment.

I am curious about what the successful are doing and I sincerely hope that you can help out with that. After looking over your blog I think I can safely believe that you are. Thanks for the informative and useful content Jeff.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Evan,

    Thanks for your comments.

I’ve been a student of financial success for almost 40 years, and have many friends and clients who follow this blog. Everything I say, I also live. There are a lot of things I don’t know about. But when it comes to money management, winning the money game and financial freedom, I let my results speak for themselves.

If you are truly committed to your own personal success, I hope to see you back here often Evan.

    Thanks again.

  9. Katie says:

I agree whole-heartedly with you but you said it better than I ever could! I just recently realized that all of the things I wanted so badly and thought so much about when I was younger I now have. The power of positive thought is amazing. Unfortunately, being older now, it’s not as easy to think positively. I want to work on that, though!

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Katie,

    Excellent comments. Thank you.

Here’s an observation. When someone tells me “I want to work on that” I don’t get the feeling that they are passionate about what they just said. That’s just their conditioned mind letting them say it and thinking … “Ya sure, say what you want, we aren’t changing anything.”

If you are committed to developing a positive mindset, it’s not something that happens overnight. Just like if you commit to running a marathon race today you aren’t going to be able to run in one tomorrow. You’re going to have to build up your strength and stamina over time. The same is true with your attitude. The good news is, there is a SYSTEM that allows you to do it. You can LEARN how to create such a powerful, positive attitude that nothing will deter you. It just takes time and commitment.

Hope to see you back here Katie.

Very informative post! So much of what we do each day is determined by our “Conditioned Mind” and yet that is so often unrecognized. As a parent, I spend a lot of time thinking about how my kids are becoming conditioned and the positives and negatives that may come out of that conditioning. It’s so easy to fall in to a rut or routine simply because we are conditioned and have forgotten that we do have choices. Thanks for the reminder and the tips on taking charge of our minds. I look forward to reading more of your blogs!

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Crycket,

    Great comments.

As a parent, you have more control over your kids conditioning than anyone else. You are a constant role model. Whether you realize it or not, your kids observe and notice everything you say and do. And they are heavily influenced by what they see, hear, observe.

I want to share the philosophies for great money management skills, winning the money game and financial freedom. I want you to learn them and apply them in your life. That’s what your kids will learn. How valuable will a sound understanding of these principles be when your kids need to face the world on their own?

    Thanks again.

  11. Anne says:

It is true that we need to spend more time focusing on the positive and dispelling all the negativity surrounding us every day. You make some good points and remind us about the power of positive thinking and seeking information and inspiration from those whose success has come before us.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Thanks for the comment Anne.

Hope to see you back again soon.

  12. Bop says:

This is really wonderful advice. I think so many of us have a difficult time seeing the trees through the forest, so to speak. By focusing our minds on a purpose, our financial goals become much more attainable.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Bop,

Thanks for your comments. Well put.

    Hi Jeff
I think some of your remarks are amazingly spot on. I often times wondered if it was just me, who perceived the majority of todays world as negative input.
Taking your ideas and applying them to my life will hopefully change things for the better.

    Greetings

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Mamamana,

Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.

Reading one blog post doesn’t change your life. But reading for 15 minutes daily and applying what you learned does.

Hope to see you back here often.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Splat,

Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate it.

If you can develop and maintain an enthusiasm for success, and dedicate yourself to getting on the right track and developing the right habits, you’ll be miles ahead. Just 15 minutes a day can start you off.

Hope to see your comments frequently.

  15. Gagan Jindal says:

It is so true but i never thought about it. About the negativity thats encircling me, i used to fool myself by saying that i am not negative and pretend same to others but this never helped but now i will train my mind properly and accrodingly as mentioned. I will be a master of my mind not slave.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Gagan,

Thank you for your comment. You have the right mindset.

But now you have to follow it up with a plan of action. You will NOT master your mind tomorrow, any more than you can walk from New York to L.A. in a day. It’s a journey. It’s something you do FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, not just for the next 30 minutes or the next month.

But at least now you are AWARE of what you must do if you want to grow into the person you truly want to become.

    Thanks again.

  16. Mark Sullivan says:

I think it’s harder to reach your mind than most people realize. Cleansing your mind daily is important to make the most of your day and maybe more important; process the day in your sleep. It all starts there, with waking up fresh after processing the day in your sleep.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Mark,

Great point. That’s why our last thoughts before falling asleep are important. We can intentionally plant positive thoughts in our mind just before going to sleep, and those are the thoughts our subconscious will work on while we’re asleep.

    Thanks.

    Jeff

  17. Darlene White says:

You are so right. Everything starts with a positive mindset and next is self-control. Once we have given ourselves the power to think in a positive manner we are on the road to success; we must just avoid the off ramps that are so tempting.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Great comment Darlene! Thanks.

Always good to see your comments. I appreciate them very much.

  19. Jim Jones says:

The concept of nourishing your mind is an excellent one. So often we only look into maintain our body in a physical sense, but we neglect to take care of it in a mental and a emotional sense.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Jim,

The quality of the informtion you intentionally nourish your mind with, and the consistency of feeding it, has the greatest impact on your future success. But, it’s the ACTION steps that make all of the difference. You first have to BE someone, before you can DO something. Success is rarely an accident.

Thanks again for your comments. I really appreciate them.

  20. Scott says:

I could not agree more with this post. Negativity is something that is used to condition our minds to be afraid and that fear controls our every conscious move! Learning to rid ourselves of that negative conditioning is an important step for business, personal life, spirituality, and relationships. Focusing on the positive will only help you to achieve your goals!

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hey Scott,

Amen to what you said. I agree completely.

    Thanks.

  21. Nicki says:

My mom talks a lot about this… taking control of your mind and learning to control your thoughts. She has read many books, such as “The Secret,” about this idea. I have more trouble with it than she does, though. I have realy bad Adhd, and my mind is like a wild animal!

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Nicki,

    Thanks for your comment.

You have a challenge that not all face. People with challenges similar to yours have gone on to have highly successful lives. How? What did they do that you can too?

If you are prepared to not use ANYTHING as an EXCUSE, you will find solutions to every problem you face. You can be successful with the right direction and support. It’s entirely up to you. No one else.

I hope you’ll come back here frequently to learn the ideas and philosophies that lead you to more success.

You make several good points in your blog. Most people will let a few minor setbacks set them back forever.A positive mind set is important in everything you do.The negative people and ideas will bring down anything you try to accomplish. You compare feeding your mind as well as your body, many do not realize how important that can be , not only in buisness but in everyday life.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Dee,

Thanks for your comments. Well stated.

This is a very interesting article!! I never knew how much my own mind is getting in front of my success!! I really enjoyed reading you article and I want to try to apply some of your points to my situation and see if it helps at all. Which I’m sure it will. This was great information so thanks!!

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Nekka,

    Thanks for your comment.

I would also suggest that you ELIMINATE the word TRY from your vocabulary.

    Losers try.

Successful people either DO or DON’T DO.

If you read your comment again and eliminate the word “try” it will be 100 times more powerful.

    Thanks again.

The things you say are true and I’ve heard things like this before. With me the problem is believing in myself I guess. I get the information and the motivation. I clear my mind and yet I’m still in the same financial rut I’ve always been in. I’ve had ideas that others have later come up with and used e.g. (brussel sprout babies) - smaller versions of cabbage patch kids.

I need a mentor I guess or someone always standing over my shoulder! Thanks though for the information.

    Jeff Fagin response:

    Hi Prince,

    Thanks for your comment.

You’re not the only one who needs a mentor! Heck, the most successful people in the world have mentors. Find the right mentor and you change your life. They’re everywhere once you know how to find them.

    Thanks again for your comment.

The Power of Positive Thinking revisited. I know that it’s true but keep falling off the wagon, so to speak. Maybe, with your help, I can succeed this time. It’s pretty amazing how many of us will feed our body, sometimes into oblivion, but seldom think about our mind. Great piece. Thanks.

    Jeff Faginh response:

    Hi Annie,

The challenge is to create the HABIT of learning every day. But you’d be amazed what 15 minutes of focused time daily will do for you. Don’t give up. It’s worth it.
